Sree Shankara Vilas | Our Story

Rooted in Tradition, Served with Love

Sree Shankara Vilas began as a calling — to feed the DFW community the way a devoted home kitchen does, with honesty, generosity, and reverence for South Indian tradition. Eight years on, that calling still shapes every plate.
The Beginning

The Beginning

Madhavi and Janardhan Maligi started SSV in 2017 as an act of devotion — bringing home-cooked flavors of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala to families across Plano. It grew, plate by plate, through catering for pujas, weddings, and community gatherings.
Food as Devotion

Food as Devotion

Every morning the masalas are ground fresh — no shortcuts, ever. SSV cooks sattvic, with no onion and no garlic, honoring an ancient principle that food prepared in purity nourishes body and spirit alike.
The Andhra Thali

The Andhra Thali

Guests across DFW call it the best Andhra veg thali in the region — rice, sambar, rasam, curries, chutneys, and papadum on an ornate platter, so generous that refills are rarely needed.
A Home on Coit Road

A Home on Coit Road

What began as catering grew into a full dine-in restaurant — a gathering place on Coit Road where bhajans play softly and every guest is welcomed like family. We are grateful to the community that made it possible.
